San Diego

A couple days after moving to Arizona, we made a trip to San Diego with my parents and Jarelle before real life started again. It was a fun last vacation before the summer ended.

Sea World was actually really fun. I may have teared up when I saw "Shamu" playing with her trainer through the glass tank. The shows were funny and very well done. Caleb, of course, loved the entire day at the park and still wants to be a penguin every time we go swimming.

I had no idea there was an 'Elmo World' at Sea World. Caleb would have been happy to have spent the whole day playing there.

Both kids fell asleep immediately after they were put in the stroller to get some lunch. Caleb could not even stay awake to suck his juice.
We had to have a beach day, but I was such a wimp and I did not get in the water-it was FREEZING. That did not sound appealing after swimming in Arizona swimming pools that feel like hot tubs. David and my dad were the only brave souls that got in. The rest of us were content playing in the sand and relaxing.

Shout out to Jarelle who spent her vacation time helping us move to AZ then sharing a hotel with my kids on vacation, who were a little crazy during that two week period. It was a lot of change for the little ones and they let me know they were having a hard time. Jarelle heard my kids fussing around the clock and didn't complain. I promise they are not always like that! Come visit again:).

We had to visit the beautiful San Diego temple. It was closed at the time so we just walked around the grounds and took some pictures.
Caleb loving his sister for a few seconds.

"MOM!" Livvy was apparently getting heavy.
It was a fun trip-thanks Mom and Dad! It was only a 6 hour drive, pretty do-able with kids. Hopefully we will do it again next summer.

How fun! I'm glad you had a blast in California and a good move home. Your kids are darling and getting so big! Hope all is well. Enjoy the AZ weather for me. We are going to be in Iowa for 4 more years and I can't stand the cold winters. Good Luck with everything!

I'd go back to that month of packing, moving, and traveling any day. Your children are wonderful, and I can't wait for the holidays to get to hang out with your family again!
