Meet Bobo

Caleb has a new bff. His name is Bobo and he is a monkey. Bobo was the chosen name because that is the name of a monkey in one of Caleb's books. Caleb laughs everytime we say Bobo when we read him the book. Perhaps that's because the only other word in the book is 'hug.'
We went to the mall to buy new shoelaces for church on Sunday, which was an expected cost of $2.00. Then Caleb meandered into Build-a-bear and found this monkey right away. He carried the monkey around the store with both of his arms around the monkey's neck for about 15 minutes. Just as I was getting ready to take the monkey away David said, "Maybe we should buy him the monkey." David, the more frugal one, was being a softey and didn't want to break Caleb's heart. Another point for Caleb in the 'W' column. The entire ride home Caleb hugged the monkey. So our Saturday night errand was more expensive than anticipated, but the extra dollars seem to have been well spent.
Happy Caleb and Bobo. Bobo has become Caleb's sleeping buddy. Caleb hugs Bobo the whole time he sleeps. It's so sweet to watch how much he loves his new friend. P.S. Do you like David's feet in the background?

Sad Caleb and Bobo. For some reason, sad face pictures are really funny. It's not that I take joy in his pain; I take joy in his unique personality and seeing what makes him happy and what doesn't. This picture actually preceded the one above it. It took him about 1 minute to go from this face to the smiling one-I love how quickly they rebound. He was not happy about being put down right after his nap, but it was crucial that I get a picture of him and Bobo.

Caleb has found a recent love for shoes and hats. Nearly every morning he goes to the drawer containing his hats and wants to put them all on. Then he wants to put on these tan loafers (in the 2 pics above) that are still three sizes too big. After taking one step in them they fall off so he brings them to me again to put them on once more. We go through this process 4 or 5 times before he finally gives up. I have to admit those are his cutest shoes. Caleb must have a good eye for fashion.

Caleb has been playing make-believe and pretend lately and it is so funny! I caught him feeding Elmo cookies the other day. Caleb just knew that Elmo was hungry.

Can you tell who Caleb watches get ready each morning? He loves playing with my make-up and putting on my jewelry, especially my bracelets. He slips those babies on his wrist like a pro. In order to accommodate our bracelet loving boy, we have renamed them Heman bands.

No worries we are not raising a sissy; he loves doing boy stuff like work out with Daddy.
