True Love

Last night David and I went to a dance...specifically, the stake dance. I don't know how we got to be so cool. By the looks of this move, you can imagine how many times we were mistaken for being some of the ballroom dancers that performed (okay maybe that didn't happen, but it should have).
The best part of the event-other than acting ridiculous and laughing with David-was watching an old couple dance. The 94 year old man accompanied his sweetheart on the dance floor for every dance of the night. It was the sweetest thing we had both seen in a long time. The couple shuffled across the floor with smiles on their faces, but their eyes rarely met because she was too hunched over to look up. Occasionally she would laugh out of embarrassment and bring her crippled hand up to cover her cute smile. Then she would rest her head on his shoulder and he would kiss the top of her head-the climax of adorable. As we were leaving, we approached them to tell them what an inspiration they were to us. The old man that had a 'perma-smile' as David called it, suggested that we trade partners for a dance. I danced with a 94 year old man last night-how awesome?!?!
I hope to be happily shuffling across a dance floor 70 years from now with my sweetheart. Happy Valentine's Day!
P.S. I made that skirt an hour before we left from a dress that was too short. Super easy, no pattern and no zipper necessary (my favorite kind of sewing). If I get ambitious, perhaps I'll post a tutorial on how to do it if anyone is interested.

You are AMAZING...made the skirt?! I'm in awe. You're the kind of housewife that makes me (the other kind) look horrible. :)

Wow! You don't even look like you've had a baby. Do you realize how blessed you are? You two are a beautiful couple. You're June Cleaver all over again!
