Welcome Caleb!

We had the best Christmas gift this year! Caleb Scott Campbell was born on Saturday, December 20 at 2:45 p.m. He weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 19 inches long. We had been to the hospital on Thursday because I was having contractions and I had been throwing up all night. After that hospital visit, the doctor scheduled me to be induced on Monday, but Caleb decided that he wanted to come on Saturday the 20th. Caleb's due date was December 25, but David and I kept telling him while he was in my belly that he should come on the 20th so that I would have more time at home with him before returning to work. The doctor had told me that I was going to be at least one week late, but Caleb didn't listen to the doctor-he came right when Mom and Dad asked him to come on the 20th. It has been a week full of so much joy and happiness. This Christmas will be one that we never forget. We love our beautiful boy so much and we are so grateful to have him in our family. Caleb makes the sleepless nights worth it!

Caleb getting cleaned up by the doctor-he loved that!

This was the first time that I got to hold Caleb after he was born.

Our beautiful Caleb

Epidurals are amazing! I felt good enough to play Settlers while we waited in the hospital. After I got the epidural, I could not feel anything!

David holding the little guy right after he was born.

My 2 boys sleeping in the hospital. David stayed at the hospital with me for the 3 days that we were there and slept on that really comfortable couch.

Going home...Caleb looked so tiny in his car seat. It was blizzarding when we left the hospital so we did our best to bundle him up.

David taking Caleb into our home.

This was after Caleb's first bath. Caleb looks somewhat happy in this picture when the bath was over, but he was a screamer when we put the water on him!

David and Caleb wrapping presents on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve was the day after we got home from the hospital. It did not feel like Christmas to us so we went for a drive with Caleb to look at Christmas lights and listen to Christmas music.

Congratulations! Enjoy every second-- you won't believe how the time starts flying. I hope you're all feeling well- recovery and sleep deprivation are no fun.
